And the Plot Thickens.........

Here I sit, Earl Grey in hand, contemplating how my day could take such a drastic diversion from the intended schedule. Quite often my days take a little side-trip, but this was an all out detour that left me completely flustered, sobbing, and in the same clothes ALL DAY that I threw on over my PJ's to pick up "tacky tourist" gear from my parents - it was "Tacky Tourist Day" at Louis' school. No offense to Mom and Dad about the "Tacky Tourist" association there. My dear, sweet mother asked me tonight at the church dinner, "Goodness, Melissa, why are you so red?".

So you can see, it was not great news we received. Actually, it was the most confusing e-mail I have ever read. Just call me Rose.

Just when we thought that we had wrapped our brains around the last contradictory e-mail, we were presented with another one that raised more questions than answers this morning. Go figure. The details are not important here, but the fact that no-one can seem to answer a few simple and precise questions about the condition of a little girl, is beyond me. Translations, cultural differences, and a massive number of "go betweens" have a lot to do with this, but that doesn't make us feel any better. We know (or at least we want to believe) that everyone involved is doing what they think is best for little Lucia. This will work out in the end, that I know. Getting to the end is the tough part. And that will just have to be the extension of my rant, lest I lose control and begin screaming in type (not pretty, I assure you).

We hope to hear some concrete answers by next week. At that point, we can consult with our team of fabulous and compassionate doctors and determine where we are in terms of a projected plan of care for little Lucia.

We (Lucia, Ed, Nolan, Lou and myself) could sure use some prayers at this point.
