Greetings!
It has been a while since I have last posted, and I suppose that has something to do with the fact that finding oneself instantly in the position of parenting a toddler, takes a bit of getting used to! It has been a while since I have had to watch my cherubs like a hawk to prevent injury, or damage to limb and home. It is all coming back to me, though:
- Suddenly running at top speed away from the person (usually one without children) you are in the middle of having a conversation with, to retrieve said child from some imminent danger...
- Standing in the middle of a crowd and wondering why everyone is staring at you in disbelief, faces contorted with repressed gagging, at the smell that is radiating from your baby's fanny - which you are now immune to....
- Finding Cheerios and pacifiers in all of your pockets...
- Embracing the "5-second Rule"....
- Having 23 lbs. of "gear" on you at all times.
Lou and Lucy on the Merry-Go-Round at the Zoo
Good Times
Good Times
Lucy is doing great. We could not have been more pleased with the responses we have received from all of the pediatric professionals we have visited to date. All seem to be quite shocked, as well, at her size. Not a small child. On that note, all feel that her birthday is on target.
And Lucy is acclimating to the Southern life quite well. She can't say 'Ya'll" yet, but she's working on it. However, Sunday night, she ate chicken and dumplings, cole slaw, greens, and buttermilk biscuits for dinner, followed by an ice cream cone and a ride in her Cozy Coupe, shirtless and covered in ice cream. Can't get more southern that that!
