Greetings!
Lucy and I are just back from a 23-hour stay at LeBonheur Children's Medical Center here in Memphis. Lucy was admitted yesterday for dehydration and a colonic infection. She rallied after 15 hours of IV fluids and antibiotics, and is at home, chipper as ever. If this sounds familiar, it is...as she was admitted in January for a 6-day stay for similiar reasons. After a barium enema to see what shape her colon is in (we have no images or details from the hospital in China where her initial surgeries were performed), we discovered that what is left of her colon is very distended, and part of her lower colon could possibly be without ganglion cells - she will need a biopsy to determine this. If there are cells, then we have options other than another surgical re-section of the colon. If there are not cells, then surgery is in the near future. All this to say...we could use a few prayers.
Thanks so much!
Love,
The C's
