Big Events and Little Events

Greetings!

Facebook is a great thing....sort of; but it is causing me to neglect this blog! Let me see if I can update you on some of the more recent and interesting Cychowski events.

We had Lucy baptised a couple of weeks ago. It was a lovely event, and Lucy did not "argue" with Pastor Rick about who was going to say the prayer during the ceremony. A tremendous relief this was to us, as the prayer arguement did occur at our pre-baptism meeting with Pastor Rick. Lucy's cousin, Loran (in red) is her Godmother. Her Grandmom C smocked Lucy's dress, and she looked just beautiful. We had a party afterwards at our house, and in Lucy's opinion, this was the highlight. She ran around in her slip, tights, and fancy pants visiting and eating until she passed out cold. All in all, it was a joyous day.

Another big event was a wonderful visit with one of the families from our Shanghai group! Jeff and Carey and their kids made the trip to Memphis from Arkansas to take in the Memphis Zoo, and contacted us for a visit! It was so good to see the girls together again. We were completely amazed by the transformation of each others' daughters! The two girls were alternately fascinated with each other, and indifferent. We had a great dinner out, and went to the "Scoop on Poop" exhibit at the Pink Palace Museum.

The boys are doing great. Both enjoying school. Nolan is loving guitar lessons, and is really gunning for an electric guitar. We recently went to a family get-together at his cousin Brian's house, and he got to play Brian's Fender Stratocaster - Nolan's version of heaven, I assure you. He has been earning allowance lately, and is saving up for one since we refuse to buy him one until he has mastered the acoustic guitar (we are cruel and mean parents, aren't we?).

Both boys are into Star Wars, and we are spending our Saturday nights watching one episode at a time, in the correct order. I don't know who is enjoying this more...them or me. The sad thing is that I keep having to ask them for clarification on the characters and plot. On any given evening or weekend, you can drive by our house and witness a Jedi duel in our front lawn. It cracks me up, and I am sure the neighbors are thoroughly entertained.
