Moving Right Along

Nothing really new to report here, except that we are in high-gear getting ourselves ready for the big trip.

I finally mailed the package for Lucy's foster family, as well as the orphanage director on Monday (when I came home, I had a message from Ed to call our SW - and this is when we found out our travel dates). I ended up using the US Postal Service, depsite more than a few warnings about doing that. It was $38.50, and I even got a tracking number (ooooooooohh). UPS wanted $177 to send a 4 pound package to China. Fed Ex said that they do not deliver to Loudi, which is interesting since the post office contracts with Fed Ex to deliver their packages in China. Go figure. Hopefully it will make it there in one piece, and before we get there.

We have secured our airline tickets to and from China. The Northwest ticketing agents that helped me out were fabulous. We saved over half of what the travel agent was quoting us - of course, we applied miles to knock down the price of the tickets. It's a relief to have that done. It took ALL day!

Mom came over yesterday to hang pictures and butterflies in Lucy's room, and Louis "organized" (using that term loosely) the books on Lucy's bookshelf.
