Girl and Boys and Dog

At the Zoo

Greetings!

The kids (all 3 of them) are in bed, their homework finished, and their prayers said, so I can finally sit down and update "The Blog".

Lucy is doing great. She seems to be settling in to the routine better than the rest of us. Though there is much fun and quality Mom and Lucy time, it appears that her favorite time of day is after school, when her heroes return to her castle. Upon their arrival, they feast on cereal bars and pretzels, and then become engrossed in their royal activities - tea parties, a drive in the Cozy Coupe around the castle grounds, Frisbee, karate, and maybe even a game of peek-a-boo. There is constant entertainment and "education" when her brothers are around, and they are all too willing to oblige. Tonight, for instance (and much to her brothers' amusement), Lucy's dinner was punctuated with some very convincing web throwing a-la Spider man; and bedtime was postponed for a short demo of low-down karate moves via Lucy. Can't imagine where she learned all of that. And despite our efforts to discourage the amusement factor of gas passing in our house (an ever-present source of competition and silliness), the boys have taught Lucy the hilarity of a good toot.

Lucy and Sula are now fast friends. Sula is still suffering from some lingering adjustment issues (no shoe or stuffed animal is safe in this house), but loves her new people puppy as her own. The two of them have struck up some sort of arrangement that involves repeated rescue attempts on behalf of Lucy to free Sula from her kennel. If freedom is not achieved, then provisions (usually a pretzle, or a kleenex, or a matchbox car) will be delivered to poor, captive Sula. In return Sula puts up with all sorts of poking and prodding, Kong (dog toy) stealing, and incessant babbling , while this people puppy is hogging her dog bed. Lucy is perpetually covered in black dog fur, and Sula in the remains of Lucy's lunch. True friends.

On that note, I will close.

Say a little prayer for Lucy!

Your writing leaves nothing to the imagination, Mel. I love reading your blogs. Sounds as if things are getting back to normal...wait...never mind, NORMAL is just a setting on my dryer!

So sorry I missed Lucy's Sip and See. Travis and I had a last minute 'interference' AKA unexpected company.

Continue to write about Lucy and
Company. This will be a wonderful legacy to her.

Love Cindy
