Our home visit for our dossier update looms on July 27, and we are in full swing getting things ready for it! Between Dr.'s visits, background checks, and our home visit, we have had quite a busy week or two.
Slowly but surely we are getting the baby's room together. It has been so much fun picking out GIRL STUFF! During the past week, Mom and I have been fixing, updating, dusting, cleaning, and arranging things in our baby girl's room. We unearthed my childhood bedroom furniture from Mom and Dad's attic, cleaned it, and set it up in her room. Ed has been painting the doors to the closet as well as the room. The boys helped to unpack and clean baby books and toys, and have even painted pictures for her room.
The boys are just so excited about their little sister. What a fantastic time they have had wondering about her... Will she like cars or dolls or both? Will she cry at night? Will she like peas? Will she like Kodak (we know Kodak will love her!)? LOTS of questions.
Our agency has updated their information that they get from CCAA, and we are now facing a 19 to 20 month wait for a referral. Not great news. However, the "review room" (as our social worker refers to it), is working on referrals through the month of May, 2006. Great news!
What we DO know, is that each day brings us closer to her, and that is truly a blessing.
